was the roll-out of a new generation of hyper-
markets, such as the store in Mons, and the
modernisation of the Market (45 stores trans-
formed) and Express (48 stores renovated)
banners, which offer customers an optimised
path, a higher degree of shopping comfort and
refreshed ranges, always tailored to local needs.
To improve the customer experience, NFC®
contactlesspaymenttechnologyhasbeenwidely
rolled out, making Carrefour the first Belgian
retailer toaccept this typeof payment. Anumber
of initiatives also boosted the development of
