A designated person
shall
remain on location but clear from dangerous area during the loading to check the
tank pressure and nature of the gas outlet at the PV valve or if a failure arises. Do not stand near the PV
valve during the loading, only approach to make regular checks.
When the loading is completed, the supply valve of the onshore installation is closed. Then, the filling line is
purged with nitrogen before hose disconnection (Close ship’s side valve before disconnection). Gas and O2
measurement is carried out by means of a gas detecting instrument, this instrument is equipped with a hose.
The vent line is equipped with a manometer line, this manometer line is provided with a blind plug and
measuring of gas can be executed by removing the plug and put the hose into the line
Before the ship is leaving the harbour, the ships nitrogen reservoir has to be replenished.
Continue supplying nitrogen through vent. pipe during the voyage to prevent oxygen to enter the Methanol
tank, for this purpose use the “Padding line”.

Offloading to receiver
Moor alongside the receiver or hold relative position to him on DP.
Cofferdams are still full of nitrogen.
Receiver sends the hose down. Connection of the hose. The hose
should
be blanked and blown with
nitrogen first.
Depending on the situation, open either the ship’s nitrogen bottles, receiver nitrogen hose valve, or nitrogen
tank valve. Once this valve opened, it’s possible to open the methanol’s discharge valve. Start the methanol
