5 Tom is a composer and guitarist with Jazz Funk Fusion influences and rock pop instrumentals. Tom Ibarra was noticed at a very young age for his ability to create rich and dynamic compositions, as well as virtuosity and intricate hidden melodic lines. Born in 1999, he has been performing for several years, most notably at beautiful festivals like Andernos Jazz Festival, Saint-Emilion Jazz Festival, Jazz entre les deux tours, Jazz In Marciac, Juan-les- Pins… He also likes to meet his audience in clubs in the provinces and in Paris, at places like the “Sunset”, the “Baiser Salé” or the “Caveau des Oubliettes”. Through these meetings, internationally renowned artists have invited him to share the stage, such as Didier Lockwood (which he will integrate the school) and Sylvain Luc in 2015, Marcus Miller in 2016 or Richard Bona in a showcase at NAMM 2017 Los Angeles. At the end of 2015, Tom was selected by the “Detours de Babel” Festival, to take part in the Détours de Babel project, which the theme was the alter ego. He then goes to Jodhpur, Rajasthan (India), to meet a young Sarangist of his age. From their exchanges will be born JazzIndia played in Grenoble and Bordeaux in 2016 and Périgueux in 2017. December 2017 winner of the prestigious English LetterOne Rising Stars Jazz Award. He is scheduled for the 2018 season on remarkable stages such as Stuttgart, Konsberg, Umbria, Nice, Lviv, Cheltenham and San Sebastian. In 2018 he shared the stage again with Marcus Miller and his band at Leopolis Jazz Festival in Ukraine and also at JazzOpen in Stuttgart. In 2017 Tom wrote Borderless Fusion which he proposed the drum part to Gergo Borlai and the bass part to Federico Malaman. In 2018 he composed Creative way (June) in which Igor Falecki (drums), Etibar Asadli (piano) and Antoine Vidal (bass) subtly combine dissonances, syncopations and Caucasian sounds. Resulting in a catchy melody that remains stuck in your head. Regularly rewarded for his participation in the Jazz springboards. Sacem Prize in 2013 and 2014 at the Jazz Musette Festival of the Puces de Saint-Ouen, Jazz au Phare, Special Judges Prize in 2015 Young Talent Award 2016, Action Jazz in Bordeaux, Springboard of “Rives et Notes” in Oloron-Sainte- Marie in July 2017. Tom has been endorsed by the prestigious brands Ibanez Guitars since 2015 and DV Mark Amp since 2016. He is the youngest European ambassador for these brands. DV Mark invited him in January 2017 as a showcase at the NAMM Show in Los Angeles and the great guitar brand Ibanez regularly commissions compositions that accompany the demonstration videos of new guitars which Tom is presenting. bio © Photo Thierry Dubuc
