The association recuperates unsold food from supermarkets and restaurants in Bucharest. Once processed, the resulting compost provides the association with fertilizer that is free of additives – ideal for organic farming. It is then used on the gardens and also offered for sale. In 2017, these two activities made it possible to fund 10 new job-creation posts in market gardening and composting. The Carrefour Foundation supported the purchase of equipment to mechanize the production of compost in order to improve its quality. The association’s future plans include starting a farm as well as organising educational workshops for children on combating food waste.
